As a transdisciplinary artist, I have been working on the idea of making notations of improvised music.

When it comes to finding a coherent cover for the LP Breath Versus Beats, I start to beat pictures with chopsticks and ink and to blow the ink traces with a straw. Combining beating and breathing to create a series of 45 notations, mixing it up digitally with graphic effects just as how Kondo Toshinori and I manipulated our music on the LP with electronics.

Graphic artist Yota Toshinori, Kondo’s son produced the cover. The label Everest Records released the LP Breath Versus Beats, and the 45 original notations are to be exhibited in this solo exhibition in Kunstraum Aarau.
