Cut is an installation in which sound production, movement and graphic notation interact directly. It is a transdisciplinary performance between improvisation, composition, interpretation and installation. Visually tracing the sound onto materials to make a graphic recording, it shows the tension of musical performance between fleetingness and materiality.

As a performance, it is continuously developed by artists and musicians. A mishmash of various creative outlet, from miked drumsticks and electronics, spontaneously projecting sounds and gestures onto paper, dancers within their own improvisation pulling the paper along- thus determining the resulting notation.

At the end of the performance, the audience sees an improvised, notated, interpreted and composed sculpture in the space.
