The exhibition >>Shifted Eruption<< feels almost like an autobiography, presenting the crucial works within Simon Berz’s artistic endeavors. From New Orleans to Tokyo, notations to musical sculptures. His world of performative and improvisation art is then served on various dimensions, starting from sounding sculptures and installations, expressive notations that are beaten into paper, and collaborative performance that will be a series of happenings and workshops.
His works are close with nature, bringing different topics together in the polarity of life. The push and pull of stones and water, the dynamics that are shared between electronics and analogue, or even how he transforms pebbles into diamonds within his found object sounding sculptures. By amplifying them electronically, it brings up depth into the nature and thus somehow letting people have a more intimate view into the uncertainty of life.
